Women empowerment

Women play a central role in strengthening families and communities. At SOS Children’s Villages Bangladesh, women empowerment focuses on enhancing skills, confidence, and access to opportunities so women can lead safe, independent, and dignified lives.

Through targeted interventions, women receive support in education, livelihood skills, financial literacy, and leadership development. These initiatives enable women to increase household income, make informed decisions, and actively participate in family and community life. Special emphasis is placed on supporting women caregivers, single mothers, and those facing economic or social vulnerability.

The programme also promotes awareness on rights, health, and protection from gender based violence, creating safer spaces for women and girls. Community engagement activities challenge harmful norms and encourage shared responsibility for gender equality.

By investing in women’s capacities and agency, SOS Children’s Villages Bangladesh is strengthening families, protecting children, and fostering more inclusive and resilient communities.
