Children's Music Competition

On the occasion of Glorious 40 years (1972-2012) of SOS Children's Villages Bangladesh, Children's Music and Dance Competitions were arranged at SOS Children's Village Dhaka on 10 and 11 January respectively. Two best singers and dancers (studying in Class-II to VI) from SOS Children's Village Dhaka, Rajshahi, Khulna, Chittagong, Bogra and Sylhet were participated in the competitions. “The main reason behind such programme is to give opportunity to the talented young singers and dancers of SOS Children's Villages Bangladesh to expose their talents/skills commemorating 40 years of SOS Bangladesh,” said Ghulam Ahmed Ishaque, National Director, SOS Children's Villages Bangladesh.

Chief Guest of the Music Competition, Nasima Begum, ndc, Director General, Directorate of Social Services said “children are the future of a nation. It is our duty to take care of our children properly and create environment and opportunity for them to flourish their talents. We always appreciate SOS Children's Villages effort in this regard and it's a wonderful event I have enjoyed". Renowned artiste Apel Mahmood and Rijia Parveen were present in music competition as Special Guest and the contest also judged by them. The contestants presented patriotic song and through a hard fight Rohan of SOS Children's Village Dhaka became Champion while Ibrahim and Boishakhi of SOS Children's Village Khulna became 1st Runner-up and 2nd Runner-up respectively. The winners were awarded by crest and certificate. Apel Mahmud and Rizia Parveen also sang for the children. Together with children they performed their favourite songs on the stage. The event was ended by the vote of thanks of the Deputy National Director, SOS Bangladesh - Dr. Md. Enamul Haque.
